The Museum of Santa Cruz, one of Toledo’s most prominent cultural institutions, holds an artistic and historical collection of great significance. As part of its rehabilitation process, the institution entrusted EULEN Art with the implementation of a comprehensive plan for the dismantling, preventive conservation, and relocation of its collection, ensuring the protection of the artworks throughout the project.
The intervention focused on the pieces located in the lower transept of the museum, following strict preventive conservation protocols. Actions included the fabrication of custom storage containers, specialized dismantling of artworks, detailed condition assessments, the application of stabilization measures when needed, and custom packaging designed to minimize risks during transport and storage.
Among the most notable works managed was The Immaculate Conception by El Greco (1607–1613), a masterpiece that required a maximum-security protocol to ensure the integrity of its support and paint layer.
Thanks to the strategic planning and precise execution of the EULEN Art team, the Museum of Santa Cruz has been able to undertake its rehabilitation with the confidence that its heritage has been handled according to the highest standards of art handling and preventive conservation, safeguarding its preservation for future generations.
